Inter IIT..

The Camp:
This year I hardly attended morning camp. Being in the fourth year definitely has some advantage. You always have excuses like BTP, Presentations and Placements. Post placements I attended most of the camp sessions with a bad hangover. It is amazing that you play a lot better when you are drunk.

The Journey:
61 f***ing hours. Why the hell couldn't we fly like the swimming team. Without Diamond and the baski team it would have been living hell. After 22 years of existence i finally crap in a train. It is practically impossible for a six footer to take a crap in the train toilet. This is an opinion shared by a fellow six footer Hardeep Singh Guru. First the train keeps moving and in the absence of a hand grip doesn't help. Then to top it off the position of the tap is hopeless.

Indian Railways rocks. They upgrade the ticket to an A.C and they dont give an option to stay back they heard you in the A.C coach. This made the whole contingent green. First the baski team is called snooty and then we get the upgrade. Damn we are lucky !
In between thanks to Gj we got some amazing idlis to eat at Rourkela.
In my list of dirty cities kolkata can be given the prime slot. It is way dirtier than Jaipur. The Howrah bride is nuthing special Misty doi(sweet curd) was a sweet temtation i gave into (thanks to Fubu for getting it). It was the only time in my life where i had an assortment of sweets for breakfast.
The train journey from Kolkata to Guawahati was slow and boring. If it wernt for a contingent full of freshies the boreness factor would have hit the roof. Why the hell cant the Indian govt make a pact with Bangladesh. Its a f***ingg pain in the ass to do the loop around the chicken neck.
Guawahati looks like a military camp. Not really sure the place is like that or the recent insurgent threat made into looking like that.
IITG has one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever seen. It would make a sexy IIT other than the factm that it is in the middle fo nowhere. Maybe after a few years all those glitches will soothe out and it may become a decnet IIT.
The hostels are similar to any other hostels across iit's but the canteen in the hostel is awesome. Though the variety in the cooked food is limited, it makes up with the amount of baked food present.
The net in IITG is bound with the same constraints that are going to bind IITB.

Every Inter IIT proceeds in a similar fashion, leagues, semis and finals. After cruising past Guawahati and Roorkee in the leagues we went into the semis where after defeating KGP we played Madras for the finals . It was a humiliating defeat leading to a depressing feelign which was quickly lost due to the fact that we left early next day. One interesting aspect about inter iit is the friendships forged. After meeting and playng the same people for 3 long years the bonding is real easy. I will cherish this for life.

For the guys there are girls from every part of India. The first few days are spent in spotting them and then the rest of inter iit is spent in tracking them down and trying your chance.

The flight back to hyd was kinda fun. We got to see Mt Everest up close. I think the journey would have been much closer if you could fly over Bangladesh. But rules are rules so we went through a lot of turbulence and then finally reached Delhi where Pinni got us some really hot food. After stuffing ourselves with this amazing food we got into the Indigo jet back home. I feel that it is the worst low cost airlines possible, selling food in the airlines.

This people was my inter iit trip.
