Talakona Waterfall

Talakona waterfall (150 ft) is a natural fall with a free fall of about 90 ft and then a gentle fall over rocks rest of the way. It is a perennial fall and fed by rain on the 7 hills.

My journey started Friday night when I caught the late night flight to B'lore after work at 3. Air India is simply awesome, they have domestic flights from the international terminus and with both the terminus having the same name, how the hell am I to know where to go.

Bangalore airport is simply superb, I caught the bus to Magestic interstate bus terminal and was on my way to Madanapalli(the place where my dad works now). Went to his beautiful British era office that was built in 1906, took some pictures on Audi's cam and drove home. Some yum food and nap later, much to my ado my cousin from Bangalore turned up, I had to endure the bone jarring ride in the bus and he peacefully drove down.

Madanapalli has beautiful weather, in the evening we drove down to Horsley Hills which is about 30 km from there, most of the views were almost closed by the time we got there, we saw this tree that is more than 200 years old, had some masala tea and came back.

Next morning A turned up for some project, met her at her hotel and then got going. The roads in AP are way better than roads elsewhere in the country. We went to some temples mom wanted to visit and then finally reached the place I so wanted to be. The forest guest house near the falls, the place is totally one with nature, we were staying in a log hut and there was a rope bridge through the canopies. Had some yup chicken for dinner and soon the rain started, it was pouring down knocking out the power and also the electric fence. The scene from Jurassic park was replaying in my head till I fell asleep.
Woke up next morning to find a friendly snake wanting to bite me, unluckily it ended up dead.I took a few pics with my foot as a scale to measure the length.

The waterfall is huge, the water falling down with the stream swaying in the wind literally clears your head of everything. Your own personal shower 90ft high, what else could I ask for. After that we had a quick breakfast and started back.
